Free Harddisk assembly service*

Orders without free assembly service that are placed on working days before 5PM CET will be shipped the same day.
For orders with free assembly the limit for same day shipping is 3PM.

General information

When you order an enclosure with one or more hard drives then we assemble the harddrives as a free service when requested. Apart from the obvious advantage of recieving a ready to use product this also reflects on the warranty. If there is a defect you can just ship the whole unit to us. It is not neccessary to troubleshoot it yourself.

Imagetanks

Imagetanks are delivered completely ready to use. You only need to charge the battery.

External and mobile harddisks

External and Mobile harddisks are formatted FAT32 by default. The advantage of this file system is that it can be used on any operating system. The disadvantage is that the maximum file size is 4GB. This disadvantage doesn't apply on NTFS formatted harddrives, but NTFS formatted harddrives need additional third party software if you want to use them on MAC or Linux. If you prefer NTFS over FAT32 please tell us in the comments for your order.

Drobo

Unless requested we don't assemble harddrives in a Drobo.

Mediaplayers

Most mediaplayers can be easily formatted through the menu on your TV. If this is not the case we will format the player for you.

QNAP

When a QNAP is ordered incl. harddrives, we will assemble the drives, update the QNAP firmware, and create a RAID volume with one redundant disk (RAID 1 or RAID 5). If you prefer another RAID configuration you can just put it in the comments for your order.

Synology

When a Synology is ordered incl. harddrives, we will assemble the drives, update the Synology firmware, and create a RAID volume with one redundant disk (SHR). If you prefer another RAID configuration you can just put it in the comments for your order.

Thecus

When a Thecus is ordered incl. harddrives we will assemble the drives and update the Thecus firmware. We won't build a RAID volume becouse this takes quite long on a Thecus. If you want us to create a RAID volume for you, please put it in the commments for your order. It will cause a one day delay thoug.
