Empower Your Hard Drive
The Synology DS115 may seem small in size, but it’s got big capabilities. The new dual-core CPU solution arms the DS115 with enhanced computing power and performance, over 110.56 MB/sec reading and over 93.47 MB/sec writing.1 With
a built-in floating-point unit, DS115 transcodes audio tracks into MP3 format on demand to reduce streaming bandwidth and speeds up thumbnail generation to yield a refreshing photo viewing experience. The DS115 also packs in rich external interfaces, offering USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports alongside the eSATA connector. That allows communications with external storage, while the USB ports also support connecting a variety of devices including Bluetooth receivers, wireless dongles, and DTV tuners to maximize the additional value you can get from the DS115.
With an abundance of applications, the DS115 turns your hard drive into a versatile storage server, which acts not only as your private cloud to access files anywhere, but also as a backup device, online photo album, local copy of your public cloud, 24/7 download portal, and so much more.
DLNA-Certified Media Server
As a certified DLNA DMS (Digital Media Server), DS115 serves as a ready media server with the capability to host digital multimedia contents for remote playback. DLNA-compliant devices in the same local area network can access the shared contents on DS115 without fussing over privilege settings. Synology mobile apps transform your mobile device into a remote control for your DS115, sending movies and photos to your TV or music to your speakers right from the palm of your hand.

File Sharing, Data Synchronization and Note Management
Synology DS115 offers comprehensive network protocol support, assuring seamless file sharing across Windows®, Mac®, and Linux® platforms. Internet file access is simplified by the encrypted FTP server and the web-based file explorer, File Station. HTTPS, firewall, and IP auto-block support ensure secure file sharing over the Internet. Cloud Station allows users to sync files among multiple devices and platforms, including Windows PC, Mac, Linux, iOS and AndroidTM tablets or phones, effortlessly keeping everything up-to-date. Cloud Sync keeps your Dropbox, GoogleTM Drive, Microsoft OneDrive, Baidu, Box and hubiC storage in sync with your personal DiskStation at home. Note Station centralizes and syncs the notes you take on your browser, tablet and phone, while keeping historic versions of every note.
Synology QuickConnect and Mobile Apps
For users whose network environment lacks a public IP address or the ability to configure port-forwarding, QuickConnect provides a relay service for you to access your DS115 from anywhere around the globe, even when it’s hidden in a local area network. With a customizable QuickConnect ID, you can log in to your DS115 via DSM’s browser interface, Synology desktop utilities, and mobile apps.

The built-in Package Center allows you to download and install a variety of packages on demand, ranging from backup, multimedia, business, security and utilities.
