The LaCie Fuel is a wireless mobile storage device with a capacity of 2TB. The portable hard drive sends a wireless signal that allows digital media to be stored on the device and then content can be streamed to a iPad®, iPhone®, iPod® touch, Android™-tablet or -smartphone, or another tablet, smartphone or computer with Wi-Fi. The LaCie Fuel creates its own Wi-Fi network and can simultaneously stream three or more devices with Wi-Fi, so that more than one person can use the media library wirelessly at the same time.
The LaCie Fuel itself does not need internet but can connect to Wi-Fi hotspots. A maximum of four wireless devices can be provided with Internet access via the LaCie Fuel. With a battery life of up to 8 hours*, media on the LaCie Fuel can be reached throughout the day, without the need for an internet connection or cable. The LaCie Fuel also has a USB 3.0 port for fast data transfer up to 5 Gb/s. The Fuel can be connected to a USB 2.0 port but then the transfer speed is limited to the slower USB 2.0 speed.
