The TS-251D integrates secure data storage and multimedia entertainment on a single device. Thanks to its PCIe slot, the TS-251D allows you to expand NAS functionality and run additional applications. You can improve overall system performance by installing a QNAP QM2 card for M.2 SSD caching /10GbE connectivity in combination with Qtier automated layered storage and installing a 10GbE/5GbE /2.5GbE network expansion card. In addition, TS-251D can be used with the intelligent AI photo management application from QNAP, QuMagie, which integrates AI image recognition for grouping similar photos into albums “People”, “Objects” and “Places”. The TS-251D is equipped with an HDMI connection for streaming multimedia in your home. The TS-251D supports dual-channel hardware decoding and transcoding that allows you to view NAS media files on different devices with ease.
- The PCIe port supports the installation of a 10GbE/5GbE/2.5GbE network expansion card, a QM2 card, a USB 3.1 Gen 2 card (10Gbps) or a wireless network card.
- There is the possibility to play 4K media and online transcoding, and multimedia can be viewed on different devices via HDMI output or streaming applications.
- Snapshots make a complete recording of system status and data. If files are accidentally deleted or changed, previously recorded data can be recovered quickly.
- QNAP offers an extensive range of multimedia applications. You can manage all apps through the Multimedia Console for easier management.
- HBS allows NAS data to be synchronized and backed up to other external servers or cloud storage, while QuDedup deduplicates data to the source to limit network bandwidth and storage.
- Use VJBOD (Virtual JBOD) to expand your storage capacity by using unused storage from other QNAP NAS. You can connect up to two TR series USB storage devices.
