The Lockerstor 2 uses the Intel Gemini Lake Celeron J4125 dual core CPU and is 30% faster than Apollo lake. The Celeron J4125 also doubles the on-chip cache to 4 MB, making the Lockerstor 2 one of our four fastest NAS devices ever.
The Lockerstor 2 comes with 4 gigabytes of DDR4 RAM and can be upgraded to 8 GB. DDR4 RAM delivers up to 30% better performance than DDR3 while at the same time reducing power requirements by 40%. The LOCKERSTOR 2 is a cost-effective, large-capacity NAS designed for business environments. The LOCKERSTOR 2 supports the online expansion of capacity, so that storage equipment can be purchased flexibly. If your budget and needs are smaller, you can purchase a smaller number of hard drives. Additional drives can be purchased as your storage needs grow. This, combined with ASUSTOR's MyArchive storage technology, allows you to achieve truly unlimited storage capacity. Every ASUSTOR NAS is developed and suitable for 24/7 use. ASUSTOR NAS devices have also undergone rigorous testing, such as drop and fire tests to test durability under extreme conditions. Heat conductors have been added to sensitive components to dissipate heat, extending the life of the appliance.
Activate from anywhere
The Lockerstor 2 and 4 are equipped with Wake on WAN technology. No specialized equipment or settings are required to activate the NAS. Simply use one of ASUSTOR's wide range of mobile apps, including, but not limited to, AiMaster, AiMusic, AiVideos and AiData to power on / off the NAS remotely. Wake on WAN helps protect data by keeping the NAS turned off when not in use; this prevents attacks, protects data integrity by staying off during power outages, and Wake on WAN also saves electricity, making the NAS even more efficient.
Protected against ransomware
The Lockerstor comes with the most up-to-date version of ADM that helps protect against ransomware attacks. With Snapshot Center and Btrfs that provide efficient snapshots to easily recover lost data. Other security features on the Lockerstor include the ability to create one or more replacement administrator accounts, an ADM Defender firewall with black and white lists, and the ability to change default ports, disable SSH and Terminal to prevent external attacks. MyArchive cold storage hard disk protection can also be improved by implementing AES 256bit encryption.
