Turn your Windows laptop or MacBook into a complete workstation with a single USB-C cable
This docking station has everything you need to turn your laptop into a complete workstation by connecting a single USB-C cable to your laptop. Connect up to two 4K monitors (max. resolution 4096x2160p @ 60Hz) via the HDMI or DisplayPort ports. The docking station also has a Gigabit LAN network port, microphone and headphone jacks. The AC7160 adds 5 extra USB ports to your laptop: four USB-A ports (5Gbps) and one USB-C port (10Gbps).

DisplayLink technology: extend the desktop of macOS and Windows computers
The AC7160 docking station has an integrated DisplayLink chip. The desktop of your computer can be extended with up to two extra screens. In total there are 3 different views: 1x laptop, 2x monitor. The DisplayLink technology works with any Windows or macOS computer with USB-C support.

The DisplayLink technology offers a stable solution for expanding the laptop by using a chipset.

Charge the laptop with max. 96W via the docking station
The docking station comes with a 135W power adapter. The power adapter powers the docking station itself and can also charge the connected laptop with a maximum of 96W. It is not necessary to connect a separate laptop power supply. The laptop is charged via the USB-C connection cable. Therefore, it is important that the laptop supports charging via USB-C.

When the docking station is connected to a USB-A port instead of a USB-C port
Do you only have a laptop with USB-A? No problem! The AC7160 can also be used with USB-A laptops via the included USB-C to USB-A adapter. You can easily extend the screens and enjoy the benefits. It may be necessary to install drivers when connecting the docking station to the USB-A port of an older laptop. The 20W USB-C charging port will continue to work. However, the data transfer speed on this port will be adjusted to the speed of the USB-A port of the laptop.

Important to know: when the laptop is connected via the USB-A port of the laptop, the Power Delivery passthrough function will not work. The laptop will then need extra power. Use a separate laptop charger for this.

Extra functions
With the on/off button you can switch the docking station and all connected devices on or off at once. The USB-A ports are all USB 3.2 Gen1 data ports, with a maximum data transfer speed of 5Gbps, for connecting your mouse or keyboard. The USB-C port is a USB 3.2 Gen2 port with a data transfer speed of 10Gbps. This port also delivers 20W for fast charging your smartphone or tablet. Connect a microphone and headphones to the 3.5mm audio jacks.

The AC7160 can also be used with USB-A laptops via the included USB-C to USB-A adapter. When the docking station is connected to a USB-A laptop, the Power Delivery passthrough function will not work. The laptop will then need additional power.

How to use a docking station?
Prevent a mess of cables when connecting. For many people, it is not self-evident to connect cables properly. And who can blame them!

The AC7160 docking station ensures a tidy desk and work environment. After connecting one cable, you can get started right away. At home or in the office. All connections are immediately available: multiple monitors, a mouse or a keyboard.

A docking station also offers a solution for flexible workplaces. Connect the cable to the laptop and you can get to work right away without losing valuable time.

Using a dock, such as the AC7160, which uses DisplayLink technology, prevents compatibility problems with DP alt mode and MST.
