The Synology RX426 is a compact 1U rackmount expansion unit designed to increase the storage capacity of compatible Synology RackStation systems. By adding four additional 3.5-inch or 2.5-inch SATA drives, organizations can expand existing storage pools or create new volumes without interrupting business operations.
With plug-and-play deployment and hot-swappable drive bays, the RX426 provides an easy and reliable way to scale storage as business requirements grow.
Expand storage with ease
Add up to four additional SATA HDDs or SSDs to a compatible Synology RackStation and instantly increase available storage capacity. All expansion is centrally managed through Synology DiskStation Manager (DSM), providing a seamless storage experience.
Expand without downtime
The RX426 supports online volume expansion, allowing existing storage volumes to grow without shutting down services. Hot-swappable drive bays also enable drives to be installed or replaced while the system remains online.
Compact deployment
Its short-depth 1U chassis makes the RX426 suitable for standard 19-inch racks, 2-post racks and wall-mounted installations. This makes it an excellent choice for edge deployments, branch offices and environments with limited rack depth.
Seamless Synology integration
The RX426 connects directly to compatible Synology RackStation systems using the included USB Type-C expansion cable and is fully managed through DSM, delivering the same reliability, monitoring and storage management capabilities as the primary NAS.
